Sunset Heart

Exciting news today! I am the featured artist at Online Arts Marketing. You can read the article about me here. If you haven't been to this blog yet, and you are an artist wanting to market your work, check it out. Chris O'Byrne has created a well thought out and well written blog, with some very helpful grounded information. I am honored to be his Friday featured artist. Thank you, Chris! You are inspiring me to paint more colorful abstracts.

Today's post will be short and sweet. Here is another heart painting from my Etsy shop. I particularly like this one for its colors. Orange and purple is one of my favorite color combinations, and the title 'Sunset Heart' seems perfect to me.

Kris, how do you photograph your work - I would think you woild get so much reflection....if I maty ask because they are so well done.

I imagine two flashes on angle, second a slave, with polarizing filter....

Congratulations on being a featured artist. It is nice to get into the public's eye, isn't it and to get written about in such glowing terms.

Sunset heart reminds me of the sunset above the Pacific Ocean, which I have seen many times in another lifetime, although I must say that your purple sky is like none I have ever seen before and can only assume it is something to be seen on a tropical island.

Your paintings have a very organic feel and it is as if they are alive. As if they are made of living matter. That could be a beating heart setting like the sun.
It must be your technique that makes it so. I think you must have a wonderful time painting them.

It's wonderful, both your heart and how colorful it is and your being in Online Marketing. I recognized the familiar face and the lovely work. Congratulations.

You are all so lovely and your comments are very appreciated. Thank you!

Drowsey Monkey- I enjoyed yours as well, and I'll be back to visit.

Diane- Thank you so much!

Kim- I agree. You do as well!

Shoshana- Thanks for the badge, it's on my blog now! I so look forward to meeting you next weekend too.

John- I use the simplest set-up, as I am not a photographer. Two lights at a 45 degree angle, and my digital point and shoot. Load it all into iPhoto, crop, sharpen, adjust, export, post! Thank you for the validation! :)

Irene- Your description of the sunset is accurate, it's my inspiration. I do have a wonderful time!

Tangles Stitch- Thanks for the congrats!
